Hardware stores 49 listed in the Kootenays

Where to find them

Most of the region's hardware stores are in Cranbrook, Castlegar and Nelson. In all, they are in 19 towns. About half have their own website. For the rest, the phone number is the best way in.

A lot of home repairs get solved at the hardware counter. The person there has heard your problem a hundred times and can name the part you need. Stock almost never shows online, and few of these stores have websites. Calling to ask if something is on the shelf is still the fastest way. In small towns, the hardware store is often the lumber yard, the propane fill and the key cutter too.
